The YMCA offers a vast range of classes for all ages and abilities, focusing on getting you moving and keeping you active.
We offer low-medium impact classes ranging from:
- PrYme Movers and PrYme Circuit
- Mobility 101
- 50’s Forward
- Body Balance
- Thai Chi (in conjuction with Turanga Health)
The classes are designed for active older people with classes between 9:00-11am Monday-Friday at a low cost.
We have qualified and experienced instructors to guide and support you and we are ACC accredited.
Our Pryme Circuit classes are low impact stretch and flex classes held on a Friday at 10:00am at the YMCA Gisborne.
The hour session is $4, and is a light Group fitness class that you can take at your own pace whether you want something low impact or wish to increase your pace and get a more high intensity workout from the class.
This Mobility and Balance Class in conjunction with Arthritis New Zealand is held on Monday at 9:00am at the YMCA City.
The hour session is $4, and is an entry level light Group fitness class, starting on chairs and progressing to standing exercises.
Brian Horwell will guide you through exercises to help strengthen and support your mobility and balance.
If you’re over 50 and want to stay fit and healthy 50’s forward is for you.
An hour aerobic workout with a social get together and cup of tea after is just what you need.
