Health & Fitness

We all know the benefits of exercise and most of us want to get fit, lose weight, tone up or just become more active! At your Y we offer a fun and friendly atmosphere with great professional advice from our dedicated fitness team, all at an affordable cost. We have the latest in exercise equipment and free support and programmes, as well as superb free-style group exercise classes, personal training, Spinning, Brazilian Latin movement, Zumba® and lots more!

YMCA Health & Fitness programmes are developmentally appropriate and help people at any stage of life build positive health habits. Participation in YMCA programmes offers youth and adults opportunities for friendship and community, a sense of health and wellbeing, increased self confidence and improved mental abilities.

NEW PROGRAMMES

Whether you want to stay in shape, tone up, get fit or lose weight, our energising and effective classes will suit all levels. We offer creative freestyle classes, where our instructors deliver their own choreography and music selection.  There are no pre-choreographed routines here!  

Times have moved since the days of Jane Fonda aerobics style classes; we have the latest craze Zumba, as well as Spinning, and a huge variety of classes so there really is something for everyone! 

ENERGISE - Monday 6-7pm

High Energy classes that are primarily cardio based. Designed to improve fitness and burn calories. Some classes may include a small measure of body conditioning. AEROBICS at it's BEST!

OPTIMISE - Wednesday 6-7pm

Muscular and body conditioning focused classes, utilising resisitance. No specific cardio-vascular training elements. Get ready to lift, pull, push, flex and crunch your way to a strong lean well-balanced physique. Functional fitness at its best!

Active Older Adults 

Age is no barrier to fun, fitness and friendship at Y-Fitness. If you are looking for great advice and activities for all levels then Y-Fitness can offer several options for adults looking to improve their fitness and lifestyle. The social aspect of these groups often takes over from the activities themselves! Many meet for coffee after their class or workout as well as planning events and trips; it's fun, friendly and welcoming wherever you go!

With our Corporate Wellness programme at Y-Fitness it’s a win-win for you and your company!
