We are a fun and engaging Early Learning Centre, catering to children 0-6 years with transition into school.
Activities and experiences in the centre are child initiated and teacher supported and include Kapa haka, Learn To Swim and Born To Move programmes.
They are based upon children’s strengths and interests and we encourage hands on learning where messy play is good play.

Monday to Friday- 7:45am- 5:15pm
(Excluding Statutory Holidays)
Y Arataha programmes and experiences are guided by Te Whariki – The New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum.
Children experience an environment where they “Grow up as component and confident learners and communicators, healthy in mind, body and spirit, secure in their sense of belonging and in the knowledge that they make a valued contribution to society.”
The centre boast a fantastic team of qualified and experienced Early Childhood Teachers led by Centre Manager Larraine Ball.
Hourly rate is $6.00 per child
Fees are charged for times and days enrolled and all absences are charged accordingly.
Attendance over and above the enrolled times shall be an extra cost.
WINZ Subsidies can be accessed to those eligible to subsidise fees.
20 Free ECE Hours can be accessed to those three and four year olds that are eligible
Y Arataha provides all meals for children, including morning and afternoon tea, a cooked lunch and fruit.
All meals are designed to meet the daily nutritional intake for children and ensure that healthy options are utilised. Dietary concerns and special meals can be made to cater for your child/s, family/whanau needs and values.- Please see the centre for form.
Y Arataha is fortunate to have access to many programmes and activities within our community and as a centre we like to take full advantage of excursions off site utilising YMCA vehicles for transport.
