Are you looking for fun, adventure and excitement for your child during the School Holidays, then look no further.

YMCA Gisborne provides a safe and inviting environment with activities for ages 5-13 years each School Holiday period, where your child can grow their individual strengths, build friendships and team work and have a whole heap of fun while doing it.

Activities are age appropriate with highly skilled staff building our future leaders and creating strong memories for years to come.

Nippers (5-7 years)

What activities are on offer?

The YMCA plan and design a range of age appropriate, fun and exciting activities for each of the age groups, sure to put a smile on their dials.

Activities such as Morere Magic, Odeon Movies, Craft days, Sports, Dance Offs, Master Chef, Make & Bake, Kaiti Beach and Hill Adventures, Cooks Cove, Tolaga Bay and Eastwood Hill exploration makes the YMCA Holiday Programme the place to be these holidays.

How to Register for the Programme?

Complete our Holiday Programme registration form which is available at the main YMCA, hand it to our Customer Services Team along with your payment and count down the days until the fun begins.

What are the costs of the programme?

7am-9am Breakfast club : $10 per child per day

9am-3:45pm Holiday Programme option #1 :$30 per child per day. (Please pack a lunch and appropriate clothing for your child.

9am-5:45pm Holiday Programme option #2  :$40 per child per day. (Please pack a lunch and appropriate clothing for your child.

The OSCAR Programme runs recreational programmes based on multiple sites, which include the main YMCA stadium, Gisborne Intermediate School, Netball Courts and Disraeli Street site.  Some of the recreational activities include soccer, T-Ball, dodge ball, tennis, volleyball, touch rugby, frisbee and hockey.

Work & Income, Child Youth & Family subsidies are available for those who qualify, and assistance can be given to complete forms.

All parents/caregivers must complete a registration form with payment to confirm bookings and once your booking is processed the daily fee applies.

What to bring?

Daily: Please send your child with a packed lunch, refillable drink bottle, suitable clothing for the activity including footwear, hat during summer, warm clothing during winter.

Swim wear and towel are required daily during the summer, as we have access to a local school pool and may take the children for a swim on the lovely hot days.

When needed: dress up gear & resources, and if available, food to share on the party day, which is the last Friday in each holiday programme.

How do I pay?

Payment by cheque, eftpos, cash or automatic payment can be made to the Gisborne YMCA.

If you are a non WINZ subsidised family, payment must be made upfront upon registering your child/ren into the programme.

A payment plan may be arranged through Customer Services, see the Team for more details.

Most parents/caregivers are entitled to a work & income subsidy, we have forms on site and can assist you with completing your application.

Our OSCAR administration team is available between 10am-4pm weekdays.
